Description
Natamycin, also known as pimaricin, is a substance produced by the bacterium Streptomyces natalensis.
Natamycin has been widely used as a food preservative, but research over the past few years has found it can be used as a new bio fungicide for anthracnose crown rot of strawberries, caused by Colletotrichum acutatum, or as a new postharvest biofungicide for citrus and some other fruit crops in recycling drench or flooder treatments.
